Cold War & Warzone Weekly Playlist Update (May 6) - Patch Notes, CARV.2 Rifle

The new Playlist Update for both Cold War and Warzone will arrive on Thursday, May 6. DualShockers have got everything you need to know about what’s coming this week to Treyarch and Raven’s Call of Duty titles.

Even though Season 3 of both Cold War and Warzone is well underway, players are still receiving new content weekly. This week will be no different as both games are set to receive the brand new CARV.2 Tactical Rifle.

Call of Duty Weekly Briefing (May 3 – 9)

Thanks to the official Call of Duty blog, we’ve got a detailed look at what players can expect in the week commencing May 3. You can read the full details on the official blog, but we’ve condensed the best bits for you to read right here in this article.

CARV.2 Tactical Rifle

The new three-round burst tactical rifle, the CARV.2 will be available this week in both Cold War and Warzone. Players will be able to pick up the new weapon either via completing in-game challenges or by purchasing the ‘Plastik Prototype’ bundle from the store.

According to Call of Duty, the CARV.2 Rifle stand out in the Tactical Rifle class for having a high bullet velocity output, powerful damage, solid recoil control, and a large pool of ammunition.

Cold War Multiplayer Playlists

Players will be getting three new playlists included in this week’s rotation. From Thursday (May 6), players will be able to jump into the following playlists.

  • Yamantau + Diesel 24/7
  • Gunfight Blueprints
  • Party Games

The 24/7 playlist will consist of Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint. All of these modes will take place on Yamantau and Diesel, the new Season 3, 6v6 maps.

Gunfight Blueprints will be a returning mode, but this time with the most up to date blueprints available.

Party Games will include Sticks and Stones, Gun Game, and Prop Hunt. This playlist will also include the brand new Season Three maps, Yamantau and Diesel.

Weekly Store Update

This week, players will be able to get their hands on the following bundles.

  • Alien Infestation Mastercraft
  • Plastik Prototype
  • Gilded Age IV
  • Angels & Demons Anime Reactive

Cold War Playlist Update Patch Notes (May 6)

The below patch notes were taken from the official Treyarch Studios website.

GLOBAL

Weapons

  • CARV.2 Tactical Rifle
    • CARV.2 now available via in-game challenge in Multiplayer and Zombies, or via Store bundle.

Stability

  • Fixed various stability issues related to tracer rounds.

MULTIPLAYER

Modes

  • Prop Hunt
    • Available via the Party Games playlist collection, now with Yamantau and Diesel added to map rotation.
    • Updated the mode description text to call out the correct time between Prop whistles.
  • Gun Game
    • Available via the Party Games playlist collection and added to Quick Play.
  • Sticks and Stones
    • Available via the Party Games playlist collection and Quick Play.
  • Gunfight
    • Players are now awarded +100 score for capturing the Overtime Zone.

ZOMBIES

Weapons

  • Addressed an issue that prevented aim assist on the Pack-a-Punched Swiss K31 (Swiss KH3353) from functioning properly, including with Deadshot Daiquiri.

Daily Challenges

  • Updated the “Perk Preserver” Daily Challenge description to clarify the requirement.

Firebase Z

  • Fixed a stability issue related to Challenges.

Outbreak

  • Fixed a rare stability issue related to spawning zombies.

Cold War & Warzone Season 3

Season 3 of both Cold War and Warzone is now live in-game! The new Season kicked off on April 22 with a whole plethora of content.

Warzone players were treated to the Destruction of Verdansk Event which saw the map become overrun with Zombies, ultimately ending in its demise. However, the event did finish with players being transported back to 1984 and dropping into a brand new Verdansk for the first time.

Whilst Cold War players were given new Multiplayer Maps, New WeaponsNew Operators, and so much more!

Warzone and Cold War are available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
