After multiple days of teasing and barely encrypted messages, Compile Heart fully revealed Moero Chronicle Hyper for Switch, an HD remaster of Moero Chronicle, first released on PlayStation Vita in Japan, and later on PC in the west. Moero Chronicle Hyper will release on January 31 on Japan for 4000 Yen, digitally only, and the game is currently 30% off until January 30. Starting January 31 and until February 11, the game will be 20% off.

As we explained in our review of the original game, Moero Chronicle is a dungeon-crawler RPG full of sexual fanservice and which never ever takes itself seriously. Be it the story and its main character who uses a sword that looks like a vibrator, the monster girls in the player's party, the ridiculous monsters you need to fight or characters like Otton, a perverted pink seal voiced by Tomokazu Sugita. The game also stars Atsushi Kousaka, Rie Murakawa, Hitomi Harada, Eriko Nakamura, Yuka Otsubo, Harumi Sakurai, Megumi Takamoto, Shizuka Ito, Mai Goto, Ai Kakuma, Kanako Sakai.

The game's name, Moero Chronicle Hyper, is a pun with the letter H, used as a synonym for sexual content in Japan. Compile Heart also officially describe the game's genre as "an H (Hyper) 3D Dungeon RPG". Don't expect anything overboard or actual sex scenes like an 18+ game on PC though. The game's battles are way too easy, and the dungeons totally uninspired, but console sexual fanservice games who only rely on it and don't try to have at least some kind of (mediocre) gameplay tend to sell very poorly in Japan. And if you believe the exaggerated rumors saying similar games with sexualized content don't release on Sony consoles anymore or are systematically heavily censored, you couldn't be more wrong.

Moero Chronicle is titled Genkai Tokki Moero Chronicle in Japan, and part of the Genkai Tokki series, which includes Genkai Tokki Monster Monpiece, Genkai Tokki Moero ChronicleGenkai Tokki Moero Crystal, Genkai Tokki Seven Pirates, and Genkai Tokki Castle Panzers. All of these released in Japan on PS Vita, except for Castle Panzers which was on PS4. Monster Monpiece and Moero Chronicle are the only games released in the west, on PC. It's possible Compile Heart is planning HD remasters of all games of the Genkai Tokki series in the near future, along with a new game following Castle Panzers.

New additions in Moero Chronicles Hyper include new items to boost party members' stats, an autopilot mode to help make dungeon crawling smoother and less than a chore, and all of the game's CGs were remade in HD.

Compile Heart also published screenshots for Moero Chronicle Hyper and the game's opening movie, which is the same as the original.

Update: Compile Heart published a gameplay video. Moero Chronicle Hyper will be available in English on Western Nintendo Eshops on March 15.
