Spike Chunsoft revealed new screenshots for Conception Plus, detailing some of the new features which weren't included in the original PSP game.

First off, Alfie (voiced by Ai Kakuma) was confirmed as the 13th Star Maiden main character Itsuki can make Star Children with. Alfie was first introduced in the game's ongoing anime adaptation and acts as a combat instructor for the Star Children, so they're ready to accompany Itsuki in dungeons.

Alfie is the Ophiuchus Star Maiden, and she herself used to be a Star Children fighting to save the world. She was born 30 years ago from one of the previous Star Maidens and the person who was summoned to their world before Itsuki. Alfie was the subject of an experimental plan executed back then to turn Star Children into Star maidens, and as such, unlike other Star Children, had a growth rate similar to a normal human's. However the plan ended in a failure, so she didn't fully earn the powers of a Star Maiden. Itsuki will need to fulfill certain conditions to unlock Alfie's full power and being able to make Star Children with her.

Next, we've got some new details on the "Double Love Ceremony". In the Conception games, a Love Ceremony is a ritual used to create Star Children, performed by one of the Star Maidens and a man from another world like Itsuki. As you've guessed, "Double Love Ceremonies" involve Itsuki and two different Star Maiden at the same time, in order to create Star Children much more powerful than normal. The resulting Star Children's stats will be based on the highest stats values of the two participating Star Maidens, so it's best to pick two Star Maidens with different stat proficiencies. Children born that way will also have easier access to the advanced classes. Double Love Ceremonies also have a higher chance to create twins, and can only be performed with two Star Maidens who reached a certain threshold in their relationship with Itsuki.

Lastly, we've got some new details on how the player can give Star Children some independent assignments. Instead of joining Itsuki's party in dungeons, these Star Children will participate in various activities, like helping out in town. Thanks to their work, new facilities will become available to the player, like specialized shops. One of these shops is a gift shop where Itsuki can buy presents for Star Maidens. If you have Star Children who already reached their level limit and can't grow anymore, it might be a good idea to send them to do independent tasks. They might share with you the rewards they get too.

You can check out Alfie and all these systems in the gallery below. You can also read more about Star Children and the game's battle system. Conception Plus launches exclusively for PS4 on January 31 in Japan. It's not impossible the game gets localized, as Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars on PS Vita did come over.
