Whatever happened to the small, indie-sized creators of Entwined in 2014? PixelOpus, the small, artistic in-house development studio made up of Carnegie Mellon and San Jose State alumni have been hard at work crafting a new magical world in Concrete Genie.

Revealed just earlier at Sony's Paris Games Week 2017 Press Conference, Concrete Genie focuses on protagonist Ash -- an artist at heart living a troubled childhood. Bullied daily, Ash secludes himself in his art. Through magical paint, Ash specifically turns to try and purify the walls of his hometown -- bringing life, peace, and tranquility to himself and the people around him.

The trailer below is charming and artistic, showing off the often neon-inspired graffiti art and some of the CG cutscenes. The trailer seems to merge both gameplay and scenes of Ash being bullied.

As mentioned at the press conference, Concrete Genie will be releasing sometime in 2018, exclusively to PlayStation 4. For a better idea on what you can expect in the new game, check out the reveal trailer below:
