Developer Monochrome Corp has released a demo from their upcoming VR sequel to Contagion.
Contagion VR: Outbreak supports Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets. You can get the demo for free by going to the title’s official Steam page. Players can expect to play in various single-player or cooperative game modes. You’ll be able to experience the origin stories of the many characters found in the original title. Cooperative mode will allow you to survive alongside your friends or compete against them in shooting range challenges.
There will also be a PVP mode included in Contagion VR: Outbreak that pits you against other players. There aren’t many details on this mode so it’s unclear whether or not it will be similar to the PVP modes found in the original title. Furthermore, if you’d like to give any personal feedback on the VR game the development team is available on their official Discord server.
If you’re unfamiliar with the series, Contagion is a first-person survival horror shooter. The game is multiplayer focused with multiple game modes that require you to work alongside or against other players. Zombies litter each map and act as environmental hazards for the players. If you’re killed you become a zombie and have to make it as difficult as possible for all other players to win. I played the game for a while and actually found it to be quite a lot of fun and a rewarding experience whether or not I was a zombie or a human.
As of right now Contagion and Contagion VR: Outbreak is available exclusively on PC. You can check out the trailer for the new VR title down below.
