Control Has Now Officially Gone Gold
Remedy has now finished its work on Control just about a month before release.
Just about one month exactly before releasing, Remedy Entertainment has today announced that Control has now gone gold.
The news of Control going gold was shared on Twitter today by Remedy’s Mikael Kasurinen, who is one of the directors of the project. “It is done. New IP, new tech, new game structure, new direction, three platforms,” Kasurinen said upon finishing the game. All of the things he mentioned here are big changes for Remedy with Control, especially the fact that it’ll release on multiple platforms. Control is Remedy’s first game that it has made since its partnership with Xbox ended in 2016.

Remedy’s communications director Thomas Puha also chimed in on Twitter after the game went gold and talked about how much of an accomplishment Control is. For a team with less than 100 team members on average, to finish a game of this size in three years is a remarkable feat, he stated.
In three years. So much new stuff. Pretty incredible we were able to pull it off at high quality. Game is pretty big too and definitely different. Less than 100 people internally on average. Thanks to all the external developer help and @505_Games https://t.co/IOnjep0Ck8

Everything I’ve personally continued to see of Control has me incredibly excited to get my hands on it. As a big fan of Remedy’s past games like Alan Wake and Quantum Break, Control seems to have the same DNA of those past titles while also being drastically different in some ways. If everything turns out like I hope, this should be one of the better titles of this summer to play.
Control is set to release next month on August 27 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. To tide you over until release, you can check out some recent gameplay from the game right here.
