Control’s Opening Sequence Revealed in New Gameplay

Control continues to look really, really weird and I'm here for it.

Remedy Entertainment’s latest title Control is due out towards the end of this summer. Just recently, we got to check out an extended section of the game and were able to share that gameplay footage with you. Now, even more new footage of Control has been let loose showing off more of the game in action.

Coming by way of IGN, the opening moments of Control have now been revealed. In total, the first 13 minutes specifically from Control’s opening chapter have now been unveiled to give you an idea of how things kick off. This opening quickly familiarizes you with the main protagonist of Control, Jesse Faden, along with the game’s main hub which is the Federal Bureau of Control.

After getting you quickly acquainted with the world and main character, it looks like you’re then placed in Jesse’s shoes and are given free rein to start exploring. Once you end up walking around for a bit, the game’s main title card appears and it isn’t before too long that you find yourself engaged in your first combat sequence. Much of this opening seems to be narrative-focused, which shouldn’t come as too much of a shock whatsoever.

On a personal level, I continue to be really excited for Control. I’ve always been a big fan of Remedy’s past games like Alan Wake and Max Payne and Control looks to be hitting some of the same notes from those aforementioned titles. While there’s still a lot left to see, I’m looking forward to finally getting my hands on this one in about a month’s time.

Until then, if you want to check out this gameplay footage in mention, you can find it in full down below. Control is set to arrive next month on August 27 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
