The Pokémon Company announced that a new core Pokémon game is coming to Nintendo Switch.

The Pokémon Company has announced a new core Pokémon game is in development by Game Freak for Nintendo Switch.

According to Game Freak’s Tsunekazu Ishihara, “it may not come out for more than a year.” The game will be a true core Pokémon RPG experience. Rumors had been circulating about a title named “Pokémon Stars” — however nothing has been confirmed yet. Fans speculated the game would be revealed at the Pokémon Direct last week, but left many fans disappointed then.

Nintendo recently announced a ton of new Pokémon games including Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon were just announced for Nintendo 3DS. Pokkén Tournament DX is also the first Pokémon game coming to Switch this fall.
