Corpse Party was a rather shocking game and its sequel Corpse Party: Book of Shadows doesn’t look like it’ll go easier on our stomachs, with a healthy dosage of anime-style horror thrown right at our face.

XSEED Games just announced that the PSP adventure game will be launched on the North American PSN on January the 15th (it will also be immediately available on the PS Vita marketplace, and “shortly after” on the European PSN) for $19.99, bringing some alternate scenarios to those featured in the first game and also helping to fill in some blanks with a series of self-contained short stories.

The publisher also released a rather disturbing trailer, that you can enjoy below. Wouldn’t it be really nice if other publishers followed XSEED’s example and released on the PSN some of the many great games that are still coming in Japan for the PSP? Yes, Sega, Namco Bandai and Square Enix. I’m talking to you.
