Back in 2007, there was word floating around the world wide interwebs of a possible film adaptation of IO Interactive and Eidos Interactive's video game, Kane and Lynch. The rumor a few years ago was to star Bruce Willis as Kane and Jamie Foxx as Lynch, and having Simon Crane direct the film. Not too sure as to what became of these rumors, but they just sort of died after a while.

Well, the workers at the rumor mill are still hard at work, but this time it's pitting Law Abiding Citizen star, Gerard Butler, to play as mercenary Kane and Fast and Furious actor, Vin Diesel, to play as the schizophrenic Lynch. F. Gary Gray, director of The Italian Job and Law Abiding Citizen is set to direct the film. The screenplay is rumored to be written by Skip Woods (X-Men Origins: Wolverine and video game to film adaptation of Hitman) and Kyle Ward (Machete Kills and 3 Rounds).

The story of the Kane and Lynch film, according to the Internet Movie Database, is as follows: A pair of Death Row inmates, a mercenary named Kane and a schizophrenic named Lynch, escape during a prison transport and team up to retrieve a stolen fortune.

There is no confirmation is to when this film would see the light of day, or even if Gerard Butler and Vin Diesel are confirmed. Right now, they are still "in talks."
