Could One of These be the Title of Bungie's Next Game?

By John Colaw

We know a few things to be certain regarding Bungie; They’re no longer working on Halo titles, they work for Activision, and whatever they make is going to sell a LOT of copies. What we don’t know at this point is what exactly it is that they’re working on. We might have a few clues now that the company has trademarked a couple of names, one of which might be the name of their upcoming game. The names include New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, Osiris, and Seven Seraphs.

A few of these names share a couple of things in common which might point to one of them being the name and the rest to be used for viral marketing, or maybe these all tie in to another name we don’t yet know. Osiris was the Egyptian God of the afterlife who was sometimes depicted as a lunar God as well (this ties in Dead Orbit and Osiris). His worship lasted in Egypt until their religions were suppressed by Christianity which ties in New Monarchy and Seven Seraphs (not to mention Bungie’s known love of the number seven).

Or maybe I’m reading too much into this. I just love mythology, don’t look at me like that. I’m not saying that Bungie is making a game about a sect of Osiris worshippers set in the end days of Egyptian rule, as Christianity comes in to take over. Man that would be so awesome.
