Modders have mashed two games I thought I would never hear together in the same sentence: Counter-Strike Global Offensive and Gone Home. The competitive first person shooter can now be played in the quaint 90s home of the Greenbriar family with the new cs-gonehome map.

The description on the Steam page for the mod reads:

Your family is mysteriously missing again. But you can figure that out later. Right now you have more pressing issues to attend to, like the fact that your house is full of terrorists and some dude has been taken hostage. Rescue him by taking him to the garage where you can make a swift getaway on that old bike thats been sitting there for twenty years.

While I thought the Greenbriar home and its trove of references and secrets may have felt a bit eerily empty while exploring it, cramming a potential 32 players into it just sounds a bit cramped. It also sound utterly ridiculous, and I may or may not be downloading it as we speak. Hey, any excuse to revisit Gone Home is good by me.

You can hit up the Steam Workshop to check it out for yourself and head over to our Gone Home review to see why you should be scratching your head and simultaneously amused by this goofy mod pairing.
