CounterSpy's Annouce Trailer Is Full Of 60's Espionage Cinema Nostalgia

By Masoud House

June 26, 2013

If you saw my last post on Dynamighty’s action spy-thriller, CounterSpy, then you know it stars an elite member of the C.O.U.N.T.E.R. agency, whose job is to stop the Doomsday Clock from reaching zero and to prevent nuclear war. Now an announce trailer has been released, which you can view below (along with some screengrabs).

CounterSpy is said to be influenced by a variety of games, from Flashback to Metroid, though the gameplay below and the music personally reminds me of Rolling Thunder on the NES. CounterSpy is set to release on the PS3, PS Vita and Mobile, although since the game is still in development, there’s no date on when it will be available.

Born and raised in video games and "geek culture," Masoud has been bred off of fantasy worlds his entire life and doesn't see anything wrong with that. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
