Microsoft released the recording of the San Diego Comic Con Crackdown 3 panel, focusing mostly on the role of Old Spice star Terry Crews as Commander Isaiah Jaxon, but also giving more information about the game and revealing a new character.

In the video, that you can enjoy at the bottom of the post, we get get to see Crews as he works on performance capture, and a brief trailer revealing his character model, also included below on its own.

We also hear how the suit for Commander Jaxon was created. The development team already had suits for agents from level one to five ready, so they had to think on what a suit for a level six would entail (and how to make room for Crews' biceps). Crews' character model comes with adornments that none of the other agents have, including some on his Lens holographic projection system. This is a sign of the fact that he communicates with people that nobody else has access to.

Interesting, the first name of Jaxon, Isaiah, is inspired by Crews' own son. We also hear that it was Crews himself who asked to be in the game.

The development team asked him to do some "weird shit" and he was always good with it, even if it's unsure whether all of it will be shown in the game.

Crackdown 3 is set over a decade after Crackdown 2, after a series of blackouts have hit the world. The agency has traced them back to the island of New Providence, and a corporation named Terra Nova. The agents are dispatched and uncover that Terra Nova is actually a villainous organization.

The entire city is available to the player from the beginning, and the villains have places that are important to them and their own motivations and personalities. While the ultimate goal is to dismantle their hierarchy, part of the game is discovering who they are and where. Attacking their assets provokes them, causing them to increase their defenses and send retaliations that can happen everywhere in the open world. After a while, they will actually appear in the world themselves, triggering dynamic boss fights that can also happen anywhere.

The game features a system named Feedjax, that allows those villains to hack into the environment and project themselves in it, communicating with the player. There is a full-fledged  monorail system, and the game is much bigger and complex than the previous titles.

Developers wanted to make sure that the city felt like a living one, with history, and not giving the idea that it was built in the last two years.

Last, but most definitely not least, another character has also been revealed: her name is Echo. She is the new voice in the player's ear, and their first contact in New Providence.

Below you can see Terry Crews' character model reveal trailer, the full recording of the panel, and quite a few screens showcasing character models for Commander Jaxon and Echo, and some lovely artwork.

If you want to see more of the game, you can check out some recent and rather hecticgameplay footage, the latest trailer from E3 showing the debut of Terry Crews himself, alongside some really spiffy 4K screenshots released last month. Crackdown 3 will be released on November 7th for Xbox One and Windows 10.
