After a report and a possible tease about a Crash Team Racing remake, tonight's Game Awards confirmed that the project indeed exists as Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Crash enthusiasts will have another title to add to their collection alongside the remakes of the original trilogy—that title being the kart racing game that original PlayStation owners swear is better than Mario Kart. The art and graphical style look on par with the N. Sane Trilogy remakes, bringing the cartoonish, expressive, and colorful aesthetic to life in full HD. For those who aren't as nostalgic for Crash Team Racing (CTR) as I am, the basic premise of the game has Crash Bandicoot and buddies facing off against Nitros Oxide, the "fastest racer in the galaxy" who wants to turn the Earth into a parking lot.The original CTR was the last Crash game developed by Naughty Dog before they moved on to other franchises. Other development teams picked up the baton in later generations, with Crash Nitro Kart and Crash Tag Team Racing, neither which really scratched that CTR itch for myself. This remake is joining the N. Sane Trilogy and the Snoop Dogg-approved Spyro Reignited Trilogy in introducing some classic original PlayStation games to a new, young audience. This very may well be a better way to do that than the PlayStation Classic. As with the aforementioned titles, this remake is coming to you from developer Beenox and publisher Activision on June 21, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch.
