Xbox One has had the ability for users to create, upload, and share custom backgrounds on their console for quite some time, though with last week's release of the New Xbox One Experience update for the console, it might be time for a refresh of your background, and Microsoft has provide some assets to make that process a little easier.

Microsoft's Larry Hryb (aka Major Nelson) provided a new desktop template for users to use and create custom Xbox One backgrounds with, the Microsoft providing a Photoshop (PSD) template that you can edit and use in making a new background to make your Xbox One snazzy and feel like new.

You can click here to download the PSD template, which is a fully-layered artwork file that includes overlays from the New Xbox One Experience UI, and a sample Halo 5: Guardians image included as well.

Though any 1920x1080 image will suffice, the template at least is a nice and easy way to test out a cool new image, screenshot, or artwork you can use on your Xbox One background: full instructions on how to change your background to a custom image on Xbox One are available here.
