South Korean studio Pearl Abyss revealed Crimson Desert, its next open world Action RPG, at The Game Awards 2020. The footage shown, over five minutes, was all actual gameplay, and it definitely looks pretty promising. You can tell from the battle animations and the characters' movement that Pearl Abyss is the developer. The camera movement and the action pattern all feel very close and characteristic of what you'd be used to with Black Desert Online.

Moreover, Crimson Desert is scheduled to come out relatively fast seeing we're in a pandemic, it's launching in Winter 2021. No platforms have been specified yet, but it'll very likely come to PC seeing the history of Pearl Abyss.

Crimson Desert is set in the medieval and fantasy themed world of Pywel. Mixing together mercenaries, political intrigues, tyrants, and mythical beasts. Crimson Desert is officially described as an open world action adventure game, with its story following a group of mercenaries crossing the paths of many other characters in a war-torn world. The game also puts an emphasis on players' choices affecting the world and story.
