Crysis 2 is finally here, and as a PC gamer who absolutely adored the first one for both its graphics and its gameplay, you better believe I have this pre-ordered. In fact, by the time this article goes live I’ll probably have it in my hands.
For those console gamers that still don’t get the big deal about the series, and why we’re looking forward to it so much, maybe this new launch trailer will convince you otherwise.
Despite the mediocre pop-rap in the background, I really love the varied gameplay EA and Crytek are showing for this one. The scene of the protagonist kicking a car into an enemy and detonating the attached explosive puts a huge grin on my face; I remember doing that many times in the first game with a barrel.
Perhaps now folks won’t complain that the shooter elements are “boring” and “uninspired”, like they did for the first Crysis, because they’re not bothering to use any creativity in any of their kills. This really is an open world shooter that you can actually play wrong, but that’s a rant for another time.
Fact of the matter is, don’t let the absolute failure of the console multiplayer demos fool you; this will be a strong entry into the shooter mix, and you will have fun with it.
