Today, Crytek released a new thirty second teaser trailer for its upcoming title Hunt: Showdown. The teaser doesn't show much, but it's a great tone piece for what the final product could reflect.

Crytek has been very quiet about this upcoming project and this new teaser continues to raise more questions. The description of the video and the words that are seen in the trailer simply say the following:

When two hunters risk everything

And evil waits unseen

The hunter becomes the hunted

To some, Hunt: Showdown may seem a bit familiar and there's a reason for that. Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age was a free-to-play co-op third-person shooter that Crytek had been developing a few years ago. This game was slated to receive a beta in late 2014, but Crytek eventually delayed said beta and has since gone silent on its development.

It seems that Hunt: Showdown is now the new, reimagined version of Horrors of the Gilded Age but it's uncertain which aspects will remain from the original project. Judging by the trailer, it clearly seems to contain a focus on co-op, but as far as the free-to-play nature of the game goes, it's uncertain.

If you want to check out more of Hunt: Showdown then you can head over to the game's Twitter account where they continue to answer fan questions with strange answers. Do these responses happen to shed more light on just what Hunt: Showdown is? It's hard to tell.
