Kallamar is the third Bishop of the Old Faith in Cult of the Lamb and by far one of the hardest to defeat. Kallamar introduces some of the most bullet-hell aspects out of the bosses up to this point in this game. Players have to make sure that they learn how to dodge in a timely manner before they face off against Kallamar. He is also one of the first bosses to use fireball bullets and close-range attacks which can make him extremely difficult to learn.

This guide will help players understand how Kallamar's bullet-hell attacks work. It will also help players understand his close-range attacks and when they can go in to get some hits.

Phase One

Kallamar About To Use His Sword Attack

The main moves that Kallamar uses during his first phase will range from close range and long range. Here's his list of moves and what to do when facing them:

  • Kallamar is going to summon tanky crab-like enemies.
    • These enemies are pretty slow and can be annoying to take out.
    • They can get in the way of this fight, so if there is a moment where players can take some out to clear up space, it's a huge help.
  • He will shoot a small circle of fireball projectiles at the players.
    • This is one of his simpler moves with the fireball projectiles and can be easily dodged, but Kallamar will try and bait the player into it at times, so be careful.
    • After he shoots this, the player can move in and get a couple of hits.
  • Shoots a ton of fireballs that are aimed in a thick line toward the player in a machine gun fashion.
    • When he uses this move with the fireballs that are coming directly at the player, then the player must run and dodge around the edge of the map so as to not get hit.
    • At the end of this move, players should have an opening to get a hit.
  • Kallamar will shoot a circle of fireballs around him.
    • These are a lot easier to dodge as a player can dodge towards them and get directly to the boss to land a couple of hits.
  • He will run after the player with his sword up and only release it when near the player.
    • The player must time their dodge as the move is about to his.
    • It can be hard to dodge, but if the player dodges, they can deal damage back to the boss right after.

Phase Two

Kallamar Shooting Out One Of His Projectile Moves

Kallamar will take on an approach that is a lot more distance-based in his second form. This is what to expect and how to deal with it:

  • Kallamar unleashes shotgun-like bursts of fireballs in a circle around him.
    • This move can be very hard to dodge.
    • Players need to find an opening in the move and stick to it until the move is over.
    • When Kallamar is done with this move, he will shoot two other circles of fireballs around him, but these can be easily dodged through and the lamb can get a hit or two on him.
  • Kallamar will start attacking with his dagger.
    • The dagger is a bit easier to dodge than his sword but is a lot quicker.
    • Try hitting him once then backing off, rinse and repeat; hit-and-run works well against the dagger.
  • He will start to summon more of the crab demon-looking things.
    • If players can kill them quickly, then do so; they can make it difficult to move around the map and make it harder to dodge Kallamar's fireballs.
  • Players need to take this fight slow as there are not really a lot of opportunities to combo in.
