Curiosity is a Dangerous Thing: This is What Picture Girlfriend Is
If you are like me and read through the list of Famitsu readers’ most wanted games, you would probably recognize most of them. However, there is one that is pretty close to the top that might stand out as being a bit odd, and that is Picture Girlfriend, a PSP title by Kadokawa Games. Below you’ll find a trailer for the game, as well as some screens that were just released. But first, hit the break for a quick rundown of what exactly this game is all about.
Picture Girlfriend is a relationship sim game that is built around the idea of taking pictures. Naturally, you must vie for the affection of your chosen girl and you’re tasked with taking pictures of them throughout this relationship building process. Your PSP will act like a typical camera, and you can rotate it however you want to get the shot you artfully block out. It seems kinda pervy to me (especially after watching the trailer), but hey, whatever floats your rubber ducky.
In the trailer below you’ll see all the girls which are hoping to be the object of your affection, plus some pretty smooth gameplay shots. It’s highly unlikely anything like this will ever come to the U.S., but it’s always interesting to take a look at what Japanese gamers have their heart set on. These “girlfriend” games are huge in Japan, so much so that even the Xbox 360 is getting a title from this genre – and that is saying a lot.
