In the lead up to Cyberpunk 2077's release next year, CD Projekt Red has today announced plans to have an extensive cosplay contest over the coming months with the winners receiving quite the haul.

The rules of this contest, as laid out by CD Projekt Red, state that you must create a costume based on an existing character in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. You'll be able to enter your own submission either online or in person at the following events over the coming months.

Gamescom (Cologne, Germany) -- Aug. 21-24

PAX West (Seattle, USA) -- Aug. 31-Sep. 3

Tokyo Game Show, Tokyo, Japan -- Sep. 12-15

Igromir (Moscow, Russia) -- Oct. 4-7

Paris Games Week (Paris, France) -- Oct. 30-Nov. 3

After the submission deadline has been reached on November 30, 2019, CD Projekt Red will then announce the 10 finalists that have advanced. This group will be made up of one winner from each of the listed conventions above and five other winners that submitted their entries online. From here, CD Projekt Red says it will then fly out these finalists to the "Grand Finale" which is set to take place in 2020. The location and time in which this finale will occur have yet to be determined as of this writing.

As for what's on the line in this competition, the first place winner will take home $15,000 along with a trophy, the Collector's Edition of Cyberpunk 2077, and a professional photo shoot that will see you gracing the cover of a magazine. Second place will take home $10,000 and a trophy and the Collector's Edition, while third will get the same goodies and instead $5,000. Additionally, those who win their respective nominations at the conventions will also take home $2,000 in winnings.

If you'd like to learn more about the rules and how you too can enter, you can either watch the video below or head over to the official website for more information. Best of luck to those that enter.

As for Cybepunk 2077 itself, the game is set to arrive next year on April 16 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
