We're not far off from the final release date for Cyberpunk 2077, and while the game itself has faced numerous delays in the past there's another delay to report on, but this time it's specifically regarding the DLC and story expansions. VGC reports that rather than reveal these before the game's release, CD Projekt Red has said it will be delaying the announcements until after launch.

"The initial plan was to do it before release," said president and joint-CEO Adam Kiciński during the company's third-quarter earnings call on November 25, 2020, "but after the recent delay, we decided to wait for the release to provide gamers with the game and then start talking about future projects. So, after release.”

Cyberpunk 2077 has been said for a while now to be taking inspiration from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in regards to DLC. In a 2019 interview with Max Pears, a level designer working on Cyberpunk 2077 said "We’ve learnt from that [The Witcher 3] and that is the strategy for how we’ll apply DLC to Cyberpunk as well. We’ll look to take what we’ve learnt from Witcher 3 and apply that.”

Earlier this year, CD Projekt Red president Adam Kiciński said that the game would have "no less DLC than The Witcher 3 had." Additionally, the Twitter account had confirmed that it would be getting free DLC similar to The Witcher 3. To refresh your memory, there were 2 major story expansions that launched for The Witcher 3 with 16 different DLC that arrived post-launch.

As for the multiplayer plans for the game, Kiciński said "we haven’t announced any date so far" (Transcription from Seeking Alpha) but he does expect to share more information sometime "in Q1 next year". He also stated that the multiplayer is not an addition to the Cyberpunk 2077 game, but instead is its own AAA project which was something that was confirmed earlier this year.

He adds, "It’s another independent production and [an] independent team of people works on it…. I said already we are not focusing right now on talking too much about other future products, products that are to be released after Cyberpunk. So please be with us in the first quarter of next year when we plan to share some strategy update. And I believe Cyberpunk multiplayer will be possible.”

As we draw closer to the game's December 10, 2020 release CD Projekt Red has shown off some Xbox footage and PlayStation footage. When Cyberpunk 2077 does launch, you can expect it to be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and Stadia.
