on October 18, 2012 2:55 PM

During a conference in Warsaw CD Projekt RED announced  the official title of their upcoming RPG set in the Cyberpunk universe: Cyberpunk 2077. This also marks a further shift in the Cyberpunk timeline, originally set in 2013 and then moved to 2020, in order to give the game more room for technological advancement and evolution.

The game will have a sandbox environment, depicting a vivid, extremely large and detailed Night City. It will play by the Pen & Paper rules, expanded to better fit the 2077 setting.

The developer, in collaboration with the original Cyberpunk author Mike Pondsmith also opened an official blog to keep us posted on development. You can find it here.
