A PlayStation 5 version has been found in the database!

January 30, 2022

Following Cyberpunk 2077‘s rocky launch back in 2020, a next-gen update could finally be on the way as a PlayStation 5 version of the game has been spotted in the PSN database.

The news comes just weeks after a recent leak revealed a supposed 1.5 patch that would “re-launch” the game. However, this was promptly shut down by a developer at CD Projekt Red who stated that it “does not add up”.

Although the developers were quick to shut down the speculation, a next-gen update is still in the works, and an announcement could be coming soon as a PlayStation 5 version has been discovered in the PSN database.

Cyberpunk 2077 Next-Gen Edition Discovered

The leak comes from Twitter user PlayStation Game Size, who often reveals the size of new titles, updates, and more via the official PlayStation network database.

It seems as though the user has discovered an official PlayStation 5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 within the database as they shared a new cover image for the game.

Alongside this, they also speculated a release date for the next-gen update to be between “Mid-February or early March”. If a next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 has truly been discovered within the database, an official release within the next month seems highly likely.

The next-gen update was originally scheduled for a 2021 release, but was delayed to 2022 along with a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

However, CD Projekt Red did recently confirm that both next-gen updates were now on track for their new release dates. Players who own the current-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 will be able to upgrade for free it arrives this year.
