Cyberpunk 2077 Subtitle Customization Confirmed by CD Projekt Red
Players will be able to adjust the size and color.
Last week, we got to see a brand-new screenshot from CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. The image shows the player sat at a table in a diner as an NPC, Kirk reads a magazine or newspaper. This image also showed some subtitles at the bottom of the screen, but players had concerns regarding the readability.
Over the last few years, clips of gameplay from Cyberpunk 2077 have shown incredibly tiny subtitles. While the inclusion of them at all is great to see, there are massive issues with how they’re presented. This new image shows off incredible small subtitles that are horrendously thin, and heavily stylized to fit with the technology-heavy theme that’s present throughout the game. The trouble is, this makes them damn near unreadable, and I’ve already been vocal about this.

The official Twitter account did respond to one user to clarify the state of subtitles in Cyberpunk 2077. Replying to @AuldShaneGamer, CD Projekt Red confirms that players will be able to adjust the size and color of the subtitles.
You’ll be able to adjust those (color / size)

Despite this confirmation, nothing else was confirmed, such as how much the player can adjust them? Are sliders present? Can you add a background? It’s a very lacking response, but at the end of the day, it’s a response regardless, and so it’s welcomed to see.
Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to launch on November 19 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It’s also going to be heading to PS5 and Xbox Series X, and due to numerous delays, players have started performing rituals to keep the launch date intact.
