Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red has been teasing a lot of new gameplay of late, and in previous videos, we've seen a plethora of ways that the player can traverse across the game's world, Night City. This might be driving a car, running around, jumping, sliding, and even wall running. However, it's been revealed that wall running has been cut from the game.

For those who might have been looking forward to running across walls similarly to Mirror's Edge with the added bonus of being able to hang on the wall and observe your targets, that won't be possible in Cyberpunk 2077 as level designer, Max Pears told Game Reactor.

Game Reactor was one of the outlets who had the chance to get hands-on with the game last week, and when asked if vertical exploration would be possible with this mechanism, "Ah, the wall running," Pears said, "that is something that we removed due to design reasons, but there's still going to be a lot of flexibility in how you move, that's for sure".

It's a shame to see the feature cut, but it's no surprise seeing as early game footage is always open to change in the future. As it happens, you'll no longer be able to run your tippy-toes over the walls. I just wonder what other features may have been cut for design reasons.

You can expect to see Cyberpunk 2077 land later this year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will also be available on Xbox Series X as well as PS5. It'll also have support for raytracing and be available to stream at launch on GeForce NOW, and then later with Google Stadia.
