In my personal opinion, 2016's Layers of Fear from Poland-based developer Bloober Team is an under-appreciated psychological horror game. That being said, when Bloober revealed Observer, a cyberpunk horror game, for the first time during E3 2016, I was pretty excited.

Observer is a first person perspective cyberpunk horror game "that focuses on a dark, atmospheric environment and deep story telling." In it, you play as Dan, a member of a special corporate-funded police unit called Observers. Having received a cryptic message from his estranged son, Dan delves into the seedy underbelly of the city, where only horror and madness awaits.

As an Observer you will need to use your augmentations to gather information, and to interrogate and hack into the twisted minds of criminals and victims alike. You will explore the boundaries of humanity and face the consequences of stepping beyond our limits. The game is notably set in the year 2084, and in Eastern Europe. As to why it is located here, Bloober says it " wanted to give a unique flavor" to its world, complete with the architecture, pop-culture, and historical and political references you would find in Eastern Europe.

As you may know, Aspyr Media is serving as the game's publisher. A release date has yet to be divulged, and beyond PC, no other platforms have been confirmed either.

However, today, Bloober released a new teaser trailer taken from the game's recent GDC demo. You can check it out below, along with the game's first images:
