Cygames Announces “Project Awakening” for Current-Gen Home Consoles

on August 21, 2016 8:02 AM

During its Cygames Next 2016 event held in Tokyo and livestreamed on Nico Nico, Cygames announced its first confirmed current-gen console game, in development at Cygames Osaka.

The game is code named “Project Awakening,” and was announced as a game for “high-end consumer platforms” which is the definition used in Japan for current-gen home consoles.

Interestingly, Cygames’ President Koichi Watanabe himself is involved in the game’s development.

Basically nothing else is known about it. That said, it’s very likely that more will be announced around Tokyo Game Show in September.

Below you can check out the livestreamed trailer, since the official version still hasn’t been uploaded.
