It has been almost two years since the last time we heard about Cygames’ mysterious JRPG codenamed “Project Awakening,” but the Tokyo-based developer and publisher behind Granblue Fantasy appears to be getting ready to talk again.

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu included a small section on the game, confirming that it’s in the work for “high-end consoles.” What’s more relevant is that we get a code from Lead Engineer Tago Junji, promising big things for the title.

“The whole development staff is working together to make it a grand-scale game that the likes of which has never existed”

While that’s not exactly detailed, it’s certainly rather promising, indicating that Project Awakening shouldn’t be a small side-project. After all, it has been in development for at least two years while completely under wraps.

Cygames is known for Shadowverse and Granblue Fantasy, and it’s also working on a rather impressive action-JRPG for PS4 codenamed Granblue Fantasy Project Re:Link, alongside the Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner – M∀RS remaster for Konami
