Arc System Works released a new trailer for Daedalus: The Awakening of Golden Jazz ahead of the game's Japanese release.

The game is the latest in the Tantei Jinguuji Saburou/Jake Hunter Detective Story series, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Daedalus is a prequel and stars a younger Saburou/Jake Hunter as he travels to New York to find the truth about his grandfather's death.

The trailer goes back on all of the game's aspects. The 3D environments palyers can observe and inspect in 360°. The "Stance Change System" which allows you to change Saburou's attitude, which may lead to new information earned from the characters. The "Tree of Thought" system, where new information is added in the form of branches, until the tree bears the "Fruit of Truth", allowing the player to solve the case.

The game is divided into chapters. Saburou will need to solve many cases, until reaching an individual known as "Daedalus", who is linked to his grandfather's death. The first three chapters of the game were detailed. It's not particularly spoilers, but you might want to skip the next paragraph if you want to go in Daedalus completely blind.

Chapter 1 starts as Saburou reaches New York. He is greeted by two of his childhood friends, Ben and Abby. As they investigate the crime scene where Saburou's grandfather was murdered, they meet an old man who was acquaintances with him. The old man promises to tell them more later. Meanwhile, they have dinner with Leo, another childhood friend. They start remembering a certain incident which happened during one of their summers spent together, and how Saburou, despite his age, solved it. Chapter 2 has Saburou visiting his grandfather's office and meeting up with Dan, who was his assistant. Chapter 3 has Saburou closing in on the mystery of the "Cursed City", thanks to the clues left by his grandfather and the information from various people. The "Cursed City", his grandfather's murder and "Daedalus", everything seems to be linked together.
