Dan Greenawalt is the brilliant mind behind the Forza Motorsport franchise, and a legend among racing game fans. At Gamescom we took the chance to have a chat with him about Forza Horizon 2 and the future of the Forza franchise.

We learn that Turn 10 and PlayGround Games not only share their code base, but they also share developers at times, and work in a very close two-way relationship.

Greenawalt also praises the weather system in Forza Horizon 2, even if unfortunately we didn’t manage to get some hints on whether it’ll appear in the next Forza Motorsport.

As a true racing game fan, he also has words of praise to share for Slightly Mad Studios’ Project CARS, which will be released in November, following the launch of Forza Horizon 2.

You can check the full interview below, with our apologies for the background noise, but the venue wasn’t exactly soundproof.

Giuseppe Nelva

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
