Dance Dance Revolayton: SEGA Announces Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure

If you ever played any of the Professor Layton series and thought the one thing missing in it would be rhythm-based minigames, then SEGA has you set with Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure, set to hit the 3DS in early 2012.

From the sounds of it, Rhythm Thief definitely looks Layton-esque, with the exception being that the puzzles are replaced by rhythm challenges. The plot has you playing as a famous thief named Raphael, as you scour the streets of Paris in search for a priceless artifact that can unlock the mystery behind your father’s disappearance.

Honestly, it sounds promising, and I’ve always been a sucker for rhythm games, so I’m cautiously optimistic. Check the jump for a plethora of screenshots.

His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
