Danganronpa Producer Teases Future Developments, Anniversary Edition Announced on Mobile

Danganronpa Anniversary Edition was announced on mobile along with a monthly Danganronpa live stream featuring Megumi Ogata.

Danganronpa Anniversary Edition was announced on mobile in Japan, bundling all three main games together. Danganronpa was featured at the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2019 event on April 18, as part of its 10th anniversary. During the event, a video message from Spike Chunsoft and Danganronpa Producer Yoshinori Terasawa was shown. A 10th anniversary trailer teasing future developments was published as well. Soon after the video message ended, Spike Chunsoft announced Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony will all release on mobile.

The mobile version will have a revamped UI and touch controls. It’ll also have a Gallery that allows you to rewatch cut-scenes, listen to the games’ voices, and check out the illustrations.

Danganronpa producer Yoshinori Terasawa said in his video message he’s happy the franchise managed to get this far and how in ten years it even got anime and stage play adaptations. He thanked all the fans for their constant support. He said he wants to keep the franchise going for older fans and for those who have yet to discover it. He also mentioned how the world is in a sorry state right now with the coronavirus pandemic, so Spike Chunsoft is moving forward various things to make everyone happy.

Moreover, a Danganronpa live stream was announced. Danganterebi ~ Kibō wa Mae e Susumu nda!~ will be airing on YouTube the 3rd Thursday of each month .The first episode will be on May 21 from 21:00 JST to 22:00 JST. Megumi Ogata will be the MC for the streams, and many guests will appear each month. More info will be published on the series’ official Twitter.

It’s unclear for now if this mobile release will leave Japan or not. The Japan release date will be announced later too.

A Danganronpa collab in popular mobile game Identity V was announced too.

Danganronpa was first released on PSP in Japan on November 25, 2010. The series is an adventure game, what basically everyone outside Japan call a visual novel, where teenagers end up killing each other and playing detective. The series is pretty popular outside Japan and the first game was translated before it was officially localized.
