Publisher DotEmu recently established a new brand division of their company called The Arcade Crew that focuses on publishing retro-inspired indie games. The first title they announced was a Contra-inspired shooter titled Blazing Chrome, and today the publisher revealing the second game they will be bringing to PC and consoles this year. That title is Dark Devotion, a methodical and macabre 2D action-RPG.
This game is being developed by Hibernian Workshop, and had a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter last year. Dark Devotion, as the title clearly suggests, explores the more dreary and scary side of religious devotion, as it follows a Templar making their way through a mystical temple during a sacred crusade.
Fitting in with the established themes, Dark Devotion looks to be a tough game that favors more methodical planning and skill during combat. The game will have four different worlds to explore, dozens of unique weapons, and unique prayer, blessing, and curse system for people to play around with.
