InterWave Studios has brought their latest game onto the Kickstarter platform, with the hope that Dark Matter will reached their funding goal of £50,000. According to the Kickstarter page, Dark Matter was inspired by the very famous Alien franchise and Metroid series, which shows itself in both the female lead (only known as the Ensign) and in the very sci-fi space ship setting.

The first update for Dark Matter's Kickstarter features some nice voice samples from Companion, the only human voice you'll hear in game, who found and activated Ensign's cryopod and brought her back to consciousness. He also happens to dole out very useful advice on enemies and traps scattered throughout the ship (he's also pretty insane but that's beside the point). Here's a little trivia: the voice actor for Companion is D.C. Douglas, who played Legion in Mass Effect 2.

I must admit, this game sounds really intriguing and I certainly can't wait to see more of it. If you want to support the campaign yourself, go here to contribute. Meanwhile check out the Kickstarter pitch video and gallery posted below.
