When it first released back in 2017, the indie-developed Hollow Knight became a big hit with its intriguing world and blend of popular genres. While the game is primarily a Metroidvania-style experience, Hollow Knight also takes some key inspiration from the Dark Souls series. Naturally, that led to a perfect crossover between the two franchises from a series of incredible fan art.Over on Twitter, @lubellide00 shared a series of fan art that recreates the boss characters from Dark Souls 3 and reimagines them in the style of Hollow Knight. Given that Hollow Knight has some incredibly challenging boss fights of its own, you can only imagine what it would be like trying to take on these intimidating characters from Dark Souls in the world of Hollow Knight. In terms of recent news for both series, Soulslike fans have a lot to look forward to on the horizon. During the PlayStation 5 reveal event in June, it was officially revealed that Bluepoint Games is working on a remake of Demon's Souls for the PS5, which was effectively the origin of the Souls series. Likewise, we've also seen some recent upcoming Soulslike games like Mortal Shell, along with a recently-announced new update for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice that is coming this fall.

For Hollow Knight, we know that developer Team Cherry is at work on the series' next installment called Hollow Knight: Silksong. The game was first revealed in February 2019, and while it doesn't have an official release date yet, hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer to hear more about it.

Dark Souls 3 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, while Hollow Knight is available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux.
