The game featured a brilliant visual upgrade compared to the first entries of the Dark Souls franchise, though some fans claimed it was much easier than Miyazaki's previous titles.

Dark Souls 3 Update 2021 - FPS Boost

When Dark Souls 3 launched back in 2016, it was offering locked 30 FPS on both PS4 and Xbox One consoles. A few years later, FromSoftware updates the PS4 Pro version by removing the locked framerate, allowing players to have an experience of near to 60 FPS at times. However, Xbox players never received such an upgrade, up until now.

The latest update for Dark Souls 3 on Xbox Series X|S, enables the

" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">FPS Boost feature on this game, allowing players to run it at locked 60 frames per second. The game runs pretty smoothly on both Series S and Series X consoles, without any drop in framerate. But, don't get too excited.

As you may remember, the game was originally running at 900p on the Xbox One console when it launched. Unfortunately, the latest update doesn't help too much in this area. The game is still running at the same resolution and if you attempt to play it on 1080p or 4K resolution, you will get an upscaled image instead of true 4K, which is not satisfying enough.

Currently, Dark Souls 3 is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S thanks to the backward compatibility system. The game was originally launched on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
