Darkest Dungeon Asks: Can You Stand The Madness?

“When the senses are shaken, and the soul is driven to madness, who can stand?”

That’s the question that developer Red Hook Games will make gamers ask when they try out the studio’s RPG, Darkest Dungeon.

The “Terror and Madness” Trailer, which you can view below, shows off the unique and grim dungeon-crawler RPG, which requires players to manage a team of characters with different classes as they explore and descend into a dungeon full of the world evil known to man. Every time your adventurers run into conflict, a unique combination of strengths and flaws will develop that affects how they’ll perform in future encounters. This means some of your characters will become heroic and daring leaders, and others will become panicked cowards, and more. The studio references the panicked Hudson from Aliens, MacReady’s booze-battling from The Thing, and James’s detached sadism from The Hurt Locker.

Darkest Dungeon will be coming sometime next year in 2014. For more on the game, check out the Darkest Dungeon website.
