Darksiders Genesis Release Dates Revealed in New Trailer
Darksiders Genesis will land on PC and Stadia in December before hitting consoles in 2020.
After being revealed earlier this year near E3 2019, THQ Nordic’s upcoming spin-off Darksiders Genesis now has an official release date, although all versions of the game won’t be arriving at the same time.
Darksiders Genesis is still planned to hit its 2019 launch window, at least for PC and Stadia. The game will drop on these two platforms in a little over a month on December 5. For console players though, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. Darksiders Genesis won’t be releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch until next year on February 14, 2020.
These release dates for Genesis were revealed alongside a new trailer for the game as well. The video doesn’t feature much gameplay, but instead focuses on an interaction between the Horseman Strife and a character named Malgros the Defiler. The interaction between the two doesn’t end on the best of terms, before the conclusion of the trailer sees the appearance of War as he drops down through the ceiling. Creedence Clearwater Revival’s song Bad Moon Rising also plays near the end of the trailer and it is extremely jarring.
If you’re hesitant on this new direction for Darksiders, I would suggest that you ease those worries. I was able to check out a decent portion of the game earlier this year and came away very positive from what I saw. If you were left a bit disappointed by Darksiders III, I think Darksiders Genesis looks like it’s taking things back to the roots of the franchise.
