Acid Wizard Studio is an independent studio located in Poland who have been developing its newest title, Darkwood, for nearly four years. Today, the team announced that the game has launched on Steam along with a creepy new gameplay trailer.

Darkwood is a top-down free-roam survival horror game in which you must take advantage of the daylight to explore and scavenge for materials. You will then need to craft weapons because when night descends, so do the world’s terrors. You will need to seek shelter, craft barricades, and set traps in order to survive the horrors that hunt in the night.

Through the game’s randomly generated environments, you will acquire the necessary tools to improve your character’s abilities and hopefully to survive. But that’s not the only thing that will keep you alive. The decisions you make throughout the game will affect the world and even its inhabitants. Who can you trust? It’s time to find out.

Darkwood is now available on Steam, GOG, and Humble Store. If you’re interested in learning more about the game, you should visit its official website. The official release trailer has been provided below.

Late last month, Acid Wizard released a live-action trailer for Darkwood with some creepy shots that really demonstrate how the game will terrify players without a single jump-scare.
