Battle royale game Darwin Project has reached two million downloads on the Xbox One via the Xbox Game Preview program.

Simon Darveau, Creative Director at Scavengers Studio, thanked players for helping them reach that massive number.

Today, we’re proud to count two million of you in the Darwin Project Xbox community! To say that we are blown away by your enthusiasm would be an understatement. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in Darwin Project at this early stage. We’re thrilled to have such a passionate group of players along for the ride as we keep improving Darwin Project up to the full launch and beyond!

He also went on to detail some of the updates that will be coming to the Darwin Project in the near future that will include optimization for better performance as it has been a major request.

A new content update on October 16, 2018 will debut "The Death and Life of Roger D. Glanton," a new story that accompanies the first battle pass for the game. This story will focus on expanding the game's lore by exploring the character who founded the Darwin Project. Halloween-themed content and Glanton-themed rewards will be introduced in this update that give you new ways to customize your character.

The battle pass will be available to purchase for 1000 ramen, equivalent to $9.99 USD with the Ramen Dinner add-on. The total value of items earned via the battle pass is around 16,500 ramen, and will be required if you want to access all the rewards that will be live as part of this event that runs from October 16-November 13, 2018.

Darwin Project launched on PC and Xbox One for $14.99 on March 9 but later went free to play. You can currently download it for free on the Xbox One through the Game Preview program and through Early Access on Steam.
