Dates for White Knight Chronicles II in Europe and North America We Have

Good news: We’ve been given release dates for White Knight Chronicles II in both Europe and North America. Bad news: It still takes them forever and a day to localize this franchise for some reason (it will be well over a year since the Japanese release by time it comes out in North America). Regardless, here’s the dates you’ll be looking out for: European release is on May 20, 2011 (SCEE) and North American release is on August 2, 2011 (D3 Publisher).

I’m still quite unsure why Sony chose to publish the Level-5-developed title in Japan and Europe, but not in North America. Oh wait, I know why, it’s because JRPGs still sell in Asia and Europe and Sony is too much of a pansy to release it in North America. That’s it. Yeah.

Also something else to keep in mind about this title is that the entirety of the first game comes on the disc, as well. It’s been remastered with the visual acuity from the sequel and, unlike in Japan, you will not have to replay the first game before you can delve into the second.
