Microsoft is really going all-out to promote the company's flagship franchise, with the latest installment being Halo 4. The support 343 Industries is receiving for its first entry in a new trilogy of Halo games will be the envy of its competitors over the next couple of months. The marketing budget alone for Microsoft's behemoth will likely make much of the indie game community wince.

With Halo 4's live-action series, Forward Unto Dawn, already set in-motion, Microsoft is ramping up the marketing effort even further with the announcement that Halo 4's launch trailer will be directed by Tim Miller (Visual Effects Lead, Scott Pilgrim vs The World) and produced by David Fincher (Director, Fight Club).

The trailer called 'Scanned' will continue the live-action trend, aiming to explain some of Master Chief's history leading up to the beginning of Halo 4. 343's Frank O'Connor had this to say about the news:

As a studio, we’re incredibly excited to be working with one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed directors and one of its top visual effects leads to bring our creative vision for the launch trailer to life...Their involvement is a testament to the significance of Halo as a pop culture touchstone, and we think fans are going to be blown away when they see the final piece.

Halo 4, developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft will be released on November 6th, exclusively for the Xbox 360.
