June 12, 2018

According to an interview with localization manager Nate Bihldorff from the folks at Game Informer, David Hayter will be reprising his iconic role as Solid Snake when the character returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this December.

The latest Nintendo Direct for E3 2018 gave us a massive new trailer for the upcoming fighting game and pretty much fufilled everything anyone could want in the series, including all the characters that have ever been in Smash, a new GameCube Controller, and Ridley.

Now, we’ve got confirmation that returning Metal Gear Solid protagonist Solid Snake will be voiced by David Hayter, who is perhaps best known for his role as the much-beloved covert operative and Snake’s iconic voice actor.

According to Game Informer’s interview:

Who is voicing Snake?

Bihldorff: David Hayter.

Has Snake’s dialogue been re-recorded? Or is the audio pulled from Brawl?

Bihldorff: I don’t have details on that. But, David Hayter will be the voice.

Fans of Metal Gear Solid should rejoice at both the news that Snake will be returning and also that he will be voiced by David Hayter. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be released on December 7th, 2018 on Switch. Get ready for a brawl, everyone!
