Originally unveiled back at E3 2016, the upcoming Days Gone from Sony Bend has been one of the most hotly-anticipated games coming to the PS4 and while the title was originally planning a release later this year, some recent events have pushed the title back to next year.

Days Gone has been pushed back to a release in 2019, according to a report from USGamer after finding that Sony's official PlayStation website listed the game for a 2019 release instead of the previously-announced 2018 window.

The change itself was confirmed after reaching out to Sony, as a spokesperson for the company stated that "Days Gone will now be releasing in 2019 and we will keep you updated on the launch date." No specific details or reasons were provided from Sony as to why the game was delayed, at this time.

The news is likely to be a bit of a bummer for those that were waiting for the game to arrive sometime this year, but hopefully in the end the delay will serve to make Days Gone another great first-party title on PS4. Given the current slate of titles expected this year on PS4, such as God of War and Detroit: Become Human this spring, 2018 is likely to be a big year for PS4 exclusives, and hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer for Days Gone to arrive.

Days Gone is currently in development for PS4 and is expected sometime in 2019.
