Today, DayZ players on the primary servers of PC will be getting a very small hotfix which based on patch notes will fix a security vulnerability in the game.

Similar to many multiplayer games with a little bit of competitiveness, DayZ features an Experimental or PTR server, where the fixes, changes, and improvements apply first, and once the result is satisfying for both the community and the developers, then they are brought to the primary servers.

In the case of DayZ, it usually takes one or two weeks for developers to bring the experimental changes to the primary servers. Today, the game receives a security fix that was implemented in the test servers last week.

While Bohemia Interactive doesn't exactly explains what this security improvement fixes, but it's a mandatory to download the update, and since it is related to the security of the game and probably your account, then you might need to download it as soon as possible.

  • Added a security fix

DayZ is a PvPvE survival game, where you need to stay alive in a brutal apocalyptic world as long as you can. The game was originally a mod for Arma 2, but fans were so amazed by the mod that it eventually turned into a standalone game, which is now known as DayZ.

It soon turned into one of the most popular titles from Bohemia Interactive next to their Arma franchise, which then led the developers to create a new survival game with Battle Royale elements called Vigor, but it didn't become a widely successful launch despite being a free-to-play experience.

DayZ is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. The game is accessible for free for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
