Gamers relent hearing a game has been delayed, but when a game as massive in scope as DC Universe Online gets pushed back you almost have to extend the slack a little. This title will be an Action MMO featuring the ability to create your own heroes and villains and interact in the DC Universe with legends you already know and love from the famous comic franchise. Some good news comes with the sadness of the delay, so cheer up good 'ol gamers and dig in to the Beta Wave details after the break!

Those who have already registered for the beta at the URL we reported on a while back are still in the general queue for access and have a chance to get in, but not a guarantee. You have until tonight to sign up to that beta wave (midnight Pacific time which is 3 a.m. Eastern).

If you'd like a guarantee at beta access instead, pre-ordering the game between now and November 15 will give you access starting the 30th. (This is a North American Beta Date)

Pre-ordering after November 15 will get you in one week before the title releases early next year, so if you want to be in the first wave you will need to order up soon rather than later.

At the end of the beta there will be a special event called Battle of the Lengeds for all members of the beta. More instructions and information will be announced in the near future pertaining this event and the various beta waves for DCUO.

One other piece of news that came down the pipeline with these announcements is that a Collector's Edition will be released on the PS3 in North America featuring

"the DCUO Batman statue, the limited edition Art of DC Universe Online art book, the DCUO Legends Issue #0 comic book with a Jim Lee variant cover, the DCUO Prestige comic presentation of the DCUO back-story and the limited edition Jim Lee-drawn poster Version of the Issue #0 comic book variant cover",

in other words everything available in the PC Collector's Edition is also available for the PS3 Collector's Edition. So taking the good with the bad, DCUO will not be out as soon as expected but will still have plenty of time to prove itself and win our hearts over in the coming months.
