When Koei Tecmo announced the discontinuation of DLC support for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round many interpreted it as moving away from the series for a while. Others did not interpret it so broadly, simply arguing that the developers were tanking those who took part in the competitive scene and were ready to move on to the next chapter after years of DLC.

Turns out that the second "faction" was right, as Dead or Alive 6 is coming, and is slated for an early 2019 release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

Today the game was revealed with a trailer and screenshots that you can enjoy below. The game appears to be a bit more on the gritty side with facial deformation on blows and blood splashes, even it doesn't certainly shy away from showing some cleavage.

According to Director and Producer Yohei Shimbori, we'll see a roster made of both returning characters and newcomers, and Kasumi, Hayate, Hayabusa, Helena, Jann Lee, and Zack are confirmed to be included.

A new combo system is included, with new features named Fatal Rush and Break Gauge trying to make things a bit more accessible for newcomers to the series. On the other hand, the timing of execution should make the difference between beginners and masters.

You can check the trailer out below, alongside a batch of reveal screenshots.
