Changes to the Dead By Daylight matchmaking system will soon come into effect as Behaviour Interactive has announced new testing dates for multiple matchmaking experiments.

The announcement comes after a new matchmaking system was launched for the popular horror game last year, but was met with backlash from a large part of the Dead By Daylight community.

Behaviour Interactive state that they have taken on board a wide variety of feedback and suggestions for improvements to the system. Many fans asked for fairer matches with longer waiting times, whilst others simply want faster queue times above all else.

As such, new matchmaking experiments will be taking place over the course of six days between the end of March and the beginning of April.

Dead By Daylight Confirms New Matchmaking System and Test Dates

According to Behaviour Interactive, the aim of the upcoming Dead By Daylight matchmaking experiments is to find a system that is a "nice balance between queue times and fairness that everyone can be happy with". As mentioned previously, some fans are more inclined for shorter queue times, whilst others would rather wait longer for a more fair match with players being on a level playing field in terms of skill.

So, to find the right balance between the two, Dead By Daylight will have matchmaking experiments on the following dates:

  • March 28th
  • March 29th
  • March 30th
  • March 31st
  • April 4th
  • April 7th

All of the tests will start at 11AM ET on the dates mentioned and last for one hour. Fans may notice a difference in matchmaking times, as well as different skill-based players in matches.

Unfortunately, Behaviour Interactive has decided to stay hush-hush about what's changing each day in the experiments, as they don't want to create biased opinions for players.
